UMP Open Wheel Modifieds are a fiercely competitive class of open wheel stock cars that push the limits of excitement weekly at dirt tracks all across the country. With over 3100 registered drivers, the unique style, affordability and competitiveness of the U.M.P. Open Wheel Modified has allowed it to grow into one of the most popular types of racing in the country, literally racing in front of millions of fans each year.

Auto Racing is the #1 fastest growing sport in America, with advertising, and sponsorship as its main drive. What we offer is pretty much a moving advertisement. Having your logo on our car will help you attract and maintain new customers from not only the race track but you will also attract when traveling to an event or even special business events. We welcome all sponsors and recognize not everyone has the ability to finance a large sponsorship package. That is ok to us as well as we know not everyone has the ability to provide large sponsorship. Here is a brief bio of David Shain:
Born March 13, 1986, David Shain started racing in 2001 and won the very first race he ever entered. From there he went on to win 17 Features with over 40 heat wins and numerous top 5 and 10 finishes at tracks all over central Illinois. David graduated in 2004 from Mattoon High School with a 3.7 out of 4.0 GPA, and was also a Linebacker for the 2003 State Semi-finals Mattoon Green Wave Football Team. David is also a 2007 graduate of Lincoln Trail College with a degree in Telecommunications. After an awesome 2007 season, David looks forward to competing in the UMP Open Wheel Modified Division around Illinois, Indiana, Missouri, and Ohio for the 2008 season. He resides in Cooks Mills, Illinois.

Accomplishments:
2001: Rookie year with 2 wins, 9 th in championship points, Street Stock Division (won the first ever race entered) Rookie of the year & the Charleston Speedway.

2002: 4 Feature wins 10 heat wins, 4th in championship points, Street Stock Division, 1 win came from Fayette County Speedway with over 70 cars competing. Street Stock Division

2003: 1 win and 7 th in championship points, Sportsman division

2004: 2 Feature wins 11 heat wins, 10 th in championship points, Street Stock Division

2005: 4 Featurewins 8 heat wins, 5th in championship points, Street Stock Division (4 th place finish at Fayette County Speedway $1000 to win with over 80 cars competing)

2006: 1 Feature win, 3 heat wins in 9 races finishing in the top five 6 times and 3 times in top 10. 2, 5 th place finishes at Farmer City Raceway, UMP Street Stock Division

2007: 6 Feature wins, 2007 Charleston Speedway UMP Street Stock Track Champ. (2 nd youngest driver in history of the Charleston Speedway), placed 26th in the Nation out of an estimated 800 racers. Placed 9 th in the state of Illinois out of and estimated 200 racers. UMP Street Stock Division. 7 Heat wins on the year.

Total: 17 Feature wins 42 Heat race wins 1 Track Championship
